Seed Phrase & Creating a Wallet โ€‹

When you first create a wallet in Omnyx, you will receive a 12-word seed phrase.

A seed phrase is a unique sequence of words that serves as the master key to your wallet. It is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose your device or password.

โš ๏ธ Warning: If you lose your seed phrase, you will permanently lose access to your funds. No one โ€” including Omnyx Wallet โ€” can restore it for you.

How to store your seed phrase securely โ€‹

  • Write it down on paper or another offline physical medium.
  • Store it in a place where only you have access. Do not share it with anyone. Legitimate support will never ask for your seed phrase.
  • Never save your seed phrase on a computer, phone, cloud storage, or take screenshots โ€” hackers can steal it.

Passphrase (25th Word) โ€‹

When creating a wallet, you can also set an optional passphrase.

  • This is not just a password โ€” it acts as an extra word added to your seed phrase. So if someone steals your seed, they donโ€™t have access to your funds without knowing the passphrase.
  • It must also be recorded and stored securely.
  • Without this passphrase, you will not be able to recover wallets created or imported with it.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Think of your seed phrase + optional passphrase as the absolute key to your wallet. Whoever has both can fully control your funds.
